One crappy Instagramm picture per band, Fenster, Fluc Wanne, Waves Vienna, Oct. 7th
Spheric and calm americana sounds à la Beach House straight from Berlin fill the venue during this nice set of Fenster at Waves Vienna. In addition to the dreamy flair (also supported by the with fairylights decorated equipment) come the soft voices of singers JJ Weihl and Jonathan Jarzyna. Interesting were the alienlike sounds generated by a small pocketradio. These thrill the Fluc Wanne for a moment and it is like being sent off to another world. Also very enjoyable were the drums, which were extensivley used towards the end of the show in form of a Franz Ferdinandesque druminferno, but at the same time - despite all the action - kept some kind of (but very welcome) calmness. The electronic beats weren’t used to tire but to excite. All in all a very nice set for the lovers of the (now very succesful and hyped) so-called dream-pop. Also I am sure that Fenster’s set on the MS Schlögen did not dissapoint either, adding another highlight to the setting: a stunning location. It’s really sad, that we weren’t on that boat.
