Sniper - Just Friends and Lovers

Just Friends and Lovers have recorded their first full-length LP, What, Colour, and it is scheduled to be released on Fettkakao Records on May 24th. The first single, Sniper, may be about, you know… a sniper, but the dark content is not mirrored in the warm, new wave-y guitar sounds.

Day 2 - research

jfalarerecordinganalbum:

Todays task was to watch a documentary about the lovelife and the anatomy of dinosaurs. It did answer a lot of questions, yet some remain. Here’s a picture of one of our favorite buddies, the Parasaurolophus.image

… because all good albums start with dinosaur research.

If you didn’t deduct it from the URL, Just Friends and Lovers are recording an LP (to be released this spring on fettkakao) and are tumblring about it.

Red hills - TIRANA

Tirana is Veronika Eberhart’s (of Plaided) new project. “Red Hills” was recorded with filmmaker Cordula Thym at Rosa Lila Villa and is a soft, calm little tune. We’re also very excited for the Eurodance number (because calling a song “number” always makes it sound eurodancier, don’t you think), she is currently recording with Wolfgang Möstl for the movie Talea.

This .gif doesn’t tell you anything about the song but if I have an excuse to post it, I’m going to use it.

Interstellar ring of fire - Mile Me Deaf

MMD do country in a delightfully weird way and that’s pretty much all there is to say about this song that appears on A Blast From Da Past. Which, by the way, you can still download for free.

Of rural and urban space - Vortex Rex

This tune - Just friends and lovers

Featuring headpieces of varying sizes, those illustrations of waves I love so much, a roller coaster and a glitter volcano.

Wild at heart - Mile Me Deaf

“Vor einigen Jahren waren die Aussichten düster und die Indie-Labels trotzdem hoch euphorisch. Klein und optimistisch sind sie noch immer, dafür ein gutes Stück professioneller.” Article by Michael Luger in Die Presse

Stefanie Sourial, Amsterdam. To be honest, I only gave this a listen because it’s called Amsterdam and I have an affinity for anything Dutch. However, it turned out to be definitely Austrian (proximity to yodelling undeniable).
