One crappy cellphone picture of GIN GA, brut, Vienna, October 12
The presentation of the new album Yes / No can only be called a success. The gig was classic Gin Ga: energetic, strong drums, the wonderful violin and this time with a bit more synthie-pop sounds, which are very present on the upcoming record. The choice of venue couldn’t have been better, since I really love brut for concerts and Gin Ga just feel right there. As a regular visitor of Gin Ga gigs, many songs have been heard in some kind of form and it’s nice to see how the songs have developed. All the hits of the upcoming record were well presented and inbetween accompanied by some old classics. Especially the 30 minute encore made everybody dance and included one of my personal favourites No Limit.
The most fun and adorable parts of the concert were Alex Konrad fiddeling with and repeatedly breaking the microphone stand, him trying to take a nice crappy cellphone picture of the audience and of course the cute smiles/smirks he puts on while performing.

Nothing against the usual Gin Ga live bassist, or the Starsailor guy that plays on their records, but I really enjoy Gin Ga most when Fijuka’s Judith joins them on stage. I think all of us have a little bit of a girl crush on her.
There was just one thing about the Bratislava trip that annoyed me endlessly. While nearly everyone managed to queue fairly while waiting for the busses back to Vienna, two people jumped the queue like it was their fucking right. Everyone else in a hurry took the train instead, but not the boss of Monkey Music and his partner the FM4 boss.
Way to go you guys! Please retire soon!
Gin Ga - No Limit (Sesiones Ligeras 54)
Indie boys choir Gin Ga once again cover the 90’s hit No Limit. if I remember correctly, Gin Ga said at the Popfest that the track’s originators were not OK with their version, and if that is true, what is wrong with them?

OK, so that was the third time Gin Ga performed at the Popfest (which has been around for four years), and it was as solid a show as ever, and I’m a big Gin Ga fan, but maybe next year, let a band play instead of them that hasn’t been invited to Popfest yet? Because you know, they’re still out there. *Cough cough* Bilderbuch *cough cough*
Gin Ga - Golden Boy (Lyric Video)
Aaaah, not only is this exciting because it’s something new from Gin Ga, but thanks to the newly popular trend of making lyric videos and due to the song’s catchiness, you should also be able to sing along immediately.

Choreographies are so much better than any other music video content.
No Limit - Gin Ga
In their latest video, Gin Ga once again tell you how to pronounce their name and then proceed to sing a cover of an early 1990s eurodance song in what seems to be the contents of somebody’s garage.

GinGa played a decent energetic set. Besonders schön: das No Limit cover (2 Unlimited, 1992). Alex Konrad: “Ein Lied aus meiner Kindheit.” Und auch aus meiner.
One crappy photoset of DIVER and GINGA at the European Music Fair, 23 November 2012, Warsaw, Poland
Thanks to GinGa (who couldn’t use their train tickets), the Austrian Cultural Forum Warsaw (that paid for these tickets), FM4 (that gave these tickets away) and tour manager Reini (simply the best), going to Warsaw instead of writing my thesis was definitely the right decision.
Paula & Karol, a band from Poland that also played at Waves Vienna, were dancing and singing along to Diver in the audience. Then I got to see GinGa from the front row (that wouldn’t be possible in Vienna!). After that, Rangleklods. Warsaw is a beauty, too!

If there is anything we love - besides boats, of course, and bread, and books, and other things that start with a B - it is choreographies. Choreographies are super. Especially if they contain fake slow motion. Bound to go viral!
