Vor und nach der Stille - Filou (VÖ: 24.5.2013, Problembär Records)

Wien ist eines der zentralen Themen des Albums, nicht nur in “Wien”, dass beinahe nach Poetry Slam klingen würde, wären da nicht diese verspielten Gitarren. Die wienerische Aussprache und die ungewöhnliche Betonung haben auch etwas verschleiert, auf das ich erst bei “Im siebten Bezirk”, dem Lied wo es heißt “dort wo Wien glaubt, es sei Berlin”, gekommen bin; nämlich dass das Ganze ein klein wenig an die Melancholie Sven Regeners erinnert. Und jetzt hör ich auch wieder auf, weil so Bandvergleiche sind ja ziemlich pfui.

Außerdem: Am 23.5 ist Releasekonzert im Laderaum am Badeschiff. Der elegante Rest werden auch da sein.

I was going to post this and say either something snarky about overly literally acted out music videos because I personally don’t like them, or something nice about childhood Naschmark memories. However, I’ve had the song stuck in my head for a whole day now and all thoughts have left my brain, so I got nothing anymore.

Die Ganze Welt - Das Trojanische Pferd

Die ganze Welt ist ein ziemlich unwirtlicher Platz. Das ist spätestens nach dem Spaghettiwesternflöten-Intro klar. Das Schöngeistige wird verbrannt, aber wenn man sich in dieser (Wald-)Wüste eine eigene Poesie (mit Kindern und Pilzen und schöner Aussicht und so) findet, steht es am Ende eh wieder auf.

Das zweite Lied auf Parkwächter Harlekins erstem Album “Liebe” ist ein wunderbar verspielter Track mit einer Spätlese-Referenz was besonders eine der Walzerköniginnen sehr erfreut.

Der Nino aus Wien zwischen Tür und Angel

Mir is gar nix wurscht. Aber es ist OK. Wenn sie filmen wollen, ist es OK. 

Vor dem Releasekonzert zu seinem vierten Album Bulbureal am 11. November 2012 haben wir den Nino aus Wien im Wiener Stadtsaal zwischen Tür und Angel über das Misslingen von Bulbureal, das Gefilmtwerden, Mazedonien und Käse ausgefragt und sind dabei auch selbst gefilmt worden.

Is this video a paradigm shift in the Preferred Austrian Music Video Set scene? From forests to fields? Possible. We shall see. In “Ayayayaya” Raphael Sas offers not only a field but also cloudy skies, red wine and a bit of product placement (for nice things like Luise Pop and Oh Yeah She Performs!).

Übrigens: So nichtssagend der Titel klingt, umso schlauer sind die Lyrics dann schlussendlich.

Ok. Okokokok. I can’t wait to read all the album reviews for the fourth Nino album. I haven’t got any idea what to make of this except that I tremendously enjoy it intuitively, so I’ll leave it to the professional journalists to wrap their heads around it.

All I know is that this is exactly what I imagine anti-depressants to feel like: The dark thoughts are still there somewhere but they’re coated with superficial, bubbly, drum driven europop which prevent you from really listening to the lyrics.

Der elegante Rest - Lässt man mich so zu dir herein?

We don’t usually post the same music video twice, but! I recently went onto the roof of the Narrenturm (the building featured prominently in this video) to watch the sun rise and it was an exceptionally disappointing experience, because despite what someone told us (“It’s so nice! And beautiful! Blablabla! We have to go there! Follow me now!”), there were just trees and other roofs and no sunrise to be seen. However, at least there were alcoholic beverages and people kissing and the excitement of doing something forbidden.

Also, I really like this song, especially the chorus where the singer’s voice goes up for the sooooo and it makes you want to jump around and climb the roofs of buildings and drink alcoholic beverages and kiss other people and do forbidden things.
