One crappy cellphone picture of THE BETH EDGES at Rock im Dorf 2014, Kremstal, 18 July 2014
It has become a little tradition of mine to go on a roadtrip to Upper Austria every summer to see some concerts and mountains and pollution-free skies. It’s always a highlight of the season.
The Beth Edges and OK Kid and the once again lovely, personal, beautiful festival location and organizational team have been such a highlight once again. How long until summer 2015?

The Beth Edges are abducted by a femme fatale with a gun who is also a seductive dancer.
'PURE DYNAMITE' video
The Beth Edges - Pure Dynamite
from The Beth Edges, out on 14 March
Crowdfunding champions The Beth Edges have a new, self-titled album coming out soon, which has the touch of a western look and feel to it, and of which Pure Dynamite is the first appetizer.
Visually, the boys and their director were possibly influenced by one of the greatest music videos of the 90s, Take That’s How Deep Is Your Love. I totally approve.
The Beth Edges album release show: 14 March, Flex, Vienna
One crappy Instagram photo of THE BETH EDGES at Waves Vienna 2013, Delegates cruise to Bratislava, 5 October, Admiral Tegetthoff
11.30 AM is a weird time for a gig, but nevertheless even then seeing the Beth Edges is fun. Especially if it’s on a boat, on the way to Waves Bratislava.
New Video ‘Colours Collide’ featuring analogue photos from the Lomography Community!
The Beth Edges - Colours Collide
Made with lomographs from the Lomography community, this video is as colourful as its title. Aren’t lomographers just tendentially supercool? We have fond memories of a birthday party of the Lomographic Society a few years ago at a Romanian discotheque in the outskirts of Vienna. It had birthday cakes in camera shape and jelly vodka shots in Filmdosen.
The Beth Edges - For Hours (subtext.at Acoustic Session)
3/4 of The Beth Edges sat down for Subtext and played For Hours and one of them is new band member Fö, formerly of Bilderbuch, which still confuses me a great deal. Because I’m so used to seeing him play drums, I always think it’s drummer Dave that left the Beth Edges.
Multiinstrumentalists - apparently a thing that my brain can’t handle.
The Beth Edges @ Waves Vienna: Saturday, 5 October
The Beth Edges - Myspace Private Sessions
In klischeebehafteter, aber großartiger Interviewlocation sprechen die Beths, noch in alter Besetzung, übers Songschreiben, Gefühle, Gedanken, Erinnerungen und Stammtische.
The Beth Edges - Once (Live Session)
Flawless Instagram aesthetics. Boring or beautiful or both, you decide.
One crappy cellphone picture per band, The Beth Edges, Kino Siska, Ljublijana, February 8th 2013
The Beth Edges are a band that remind you of that originality is not quality and while they might not be terribly original, they’re not terribly unoriginal and their execution is flawless. These kids know what they’re doing. They’re effortlessly switching from the acoustic keys-and-brass ballad to the Brit inspired mid 00s indie rock songs they’re known for so who cares if one of their songs begins like the Babyshambles “Delivery”.
I’m sorry. Apparently I can’t write a positive review without sounding like a dick. I enjoyed the show is what I meant to say.
Viereinhalb Minuten Swing And Roll (Dreieinhalb Minuten Rock’n’Roll / Fred Schreiber Cover)
Fred Schreiber is not only a musician (Fred Schreiber, Die Falschen Freunde) but also happens to be one of the makers of the Sendung ohne Namen. A whole lot of representatives of the local music scene gathered some time ago to record a version of one of Schreiber’s songs for the ORF show, including Gustav, The Beth Edges, Skero, Mauracher, pauT, Fuzzman, Der Nino aus Wien, Discoparty Brothers, Das trojanische Pferd, Kreisky, Heinz aus Wien, Attwenger, Christoph & Lollo, Kidcat Lo-Fi, Luise Pop, Garish, Florian Horwath, A Life, A Song, A Cigarette, Curbs, I-Wolf and Fred Schreiber himself.
The Beth Edges - Older Than Me
You’re older than me but this doesn’t mean that you know anything any better
It’s not fun having this line, obviously written for twelve-year-olds rebelling against their parents for the first time, stuck in your head all the fucking time when really you are twice that age.
