remember the fettkakao sampler? it was released last year and Paper Bird’s contribution was a Vortex Rex cover. this idea was so sweet and smart; like all the other contributions for the sampler. now anna did a video for escape plans, using pictures from the prelinger archives. so cool.

One of us here in the walzerkönig offices (heh) has been confusing Vortex Rex for another Austrian band starting with a V for years now and because she doesn’t like that other Austrian band starting with V all that much, never bothered to listen to more songs by Vortex Rex. (It didn’t help that the one Vortex Rex song she did know was a remix.) She made a huge mistake. She likes Vortex Rex and enjoyed herself greatly at last nights concert and thinks that especially their cover of Knockin’ on heaven’s door is a precious, precious gem.
